Preventing social exclusion of children and young people in Europe: Participation & early intervention 21-23 November 2007 In 2007 our Annual Conference took place in Malta. It was co-organised with Eurochild's member organisation Foundation for Social Welfare Services. The event was attended by 190 participants (including 120 international and 60 Maltese guests) and was overall a success. Policy & practice for social inclusion of children and young people - the role of non-formal and informal learning 14-16 November 2006 This European Conference was organised by Eurochild together with its German member organisation Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Kinder- und Jugendhilfe – AGJ (www.agj.de) in Berlin. It was attended by 110 participants, who had a vivid and interesting exchange with both policy makers and representatives of NGOs working at grass roots level on the issues of non-formal and informal learning as a means of tackling social exclusion. A Press Release issued on 15 November by Eurochild, calls on policy makers to give greater recognition to non-formal and informal learning within education provision, especially as a means of fighting social exclusion and ensuring equality of opportunity.
