The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published calls for proposals relating to the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion (EY2010). The Cabinet Office’s Social Exclusion Task Force is particularly keen to encourage organisations to make bids relevant to PSA 16 – the socially excluded adults public service agreement. This PSA aims to help care leavers, people with moderate/severe learning disabilities, people with serious mental health conditions, and ex offenders to find a home and a job. Further information on PSA 16 is available at http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/social_exclusion_task_force/psa.aspx As well as proposals for regional events and technical assistance, funding will be available for four UK-wide programmes of activity to be delivered at a local or grassroots level. Proposals are invited for the delivery of programmes of activity aligned to one of four themes: - Child poverty
- Severe multiple deprivation and those who are most at risk of social exclusion
- Working age adults (that is, overcoming barriers to participation in the labour market)
- Older people and poverty or social exclusion.
The Calls for Proposals, associated application forms, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and the selection criteria against which proposals will be selected, are all available online at http://www.dwp.gov.uk/european-year-2010 . The deadline for submission of Proposals: 15 October 2009. All questions relating to these Calls for Proposals should be directed to the dedicated European Year email account: 2010.EY2010@dwp.gsi.gov.uk |
