Child and Youth Participation

It is important that children and young people are able to participate in decision-making processes that affect their lives. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (namely article 12) insists that children’s views are given weight.

Eurochild is committed to support the direct involvement and participation of children and young people. Our aim is to support the development of participatory means and structures to facilitate children's participation in policy developments at national and EU level.

Eurochild’s 2008 Membership Exchange Seminar focused on Child and Youth participation and took place in Cardiff, Wales.

"Child and Youth Participation" is one of the four member-driven thematic working groups.
