Children in Alternative Care

The Thematic Working Group on Children in Alternative Care will focus on the interlinkages between poverty, social exclusion and children who are in, at risk of going into, or leaving alternative care. The synergy between child protection policies and anti-poverty/ social inclusion strategies will be explored to give direction to policy recommendations at EU and Member State level. Good practice examples will be disseminated.

The 2009 Members' Exchange Seminar was on Children without Parental Care: “Poverty, Social Exclusion and Children without Parental Care: Making the Links”. The event took place in Prague on 23-24 June 2009.

"Children in Alternative Care" is one of the four member-driven thematic working groups.
