Giving a voice to children and young people is one of Eurochild’s strategic goals. In this section you will find stories on participatory experiences from children and young people.
June 2015: Ralfs from Latvia participated in the World Vision Millenium Youth Project during the European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels, June 2015. The project aimed to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) amongst young people and highlight that if the post-2015 agenda is to succeed, children and youth must be involved in its implementation.
January 2014: Kristina, as part of the youth panel of National Network for Children (Bulgaria), raised the importance of including child and youth participation in organisations’ work plan for 2015-2020. The group developed a specific work plan for the youth panel.
February - May 2015: Madelina (Member of the Children's Council of Vícar, Spain) participated in the creation of an electoral programme by children for the Spanish local and regional elections. They programme included 100 proposals and was disseminated with posters and a video.
May 2013 - February 2014 - Roberta met the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva to present her views on the implementation of the UNCRC in her own country. She talked about racism and prospects for foreigners and their children in Germany.
October 2014 - January 2015 - Megan helped the Queen's University Belfast with the development of a child-friendly survey on how governments spend money for children. Survey's results fed into a report published by the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights.
20 November 2014 - The EU Alliance for Investing in Children invited Natalia (Spain) to deliver an opening speech celebrating the 25th anniversary of the UNCRC at the Convention of the European Platform against Poverty (EPAP).
25-26 September 2014 - Leo from Spain went with other youngsters to Geneva and met members of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and the UN Committee on the Rights of People with Disabilities.
