iCmedia debates best practices on audiovisual content rating systems

Eurochild Spanish member iCmedia organised a conference at the European Parliament on protection and empowerment of minors in the digital environment

The event, which took place on 10 October in Brussels, was co-organised by MEP Jana Žitňanská from the European Conservatives and Reformists Group. The debate was focused on the way forward for a better audiovisual media content rating within the framework of the new AVSM Directive.

In the current context, experts agreed that the best solution is to provide users- both parents and children - with enough information to assess the adequacy of each content to each consumer. The goal would be the creation of a common system of content rating on the bases of minimum high-quality standards.
