Council of Europe: Call for summit input launched

The Council of Europe is calling for people and organisations to offer their own ideas to feed the discussions at the upcoming summit of heads of state and government in Reykjavik, Iceland on 16 – 17 May.

It is asking for contributions from international organisations, national human rights institutions, civil society, researchers, policy makers, academics, lawyers and human rights defenders on how to meet future challenges, how it can ensure accountability for Russian aggression in Ukraine, and how to modernise and develop new strategic directions

The Council of Europe – the continent’s oldest and leading pan-European organisation – has a critical role to play as the region’s guardian of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. The Summit strives to ensure that the Council of Europe is fit for purpose to meet current and future challenges as well as the expectations of future generations.

Anyone interested can get involved by filling in the form

Deadline: 20 February 2023
