Situation Analysis on children on the move in Romania launched

The analysis evaluates Romania's child protection system, and its ability to identify the needs of the children on the move

Terre des Hommes and Save the Children have launched a Situational Analysis of Children on the Move in Romania as part of the Mario project, which aims at improving the level of protection of migrant children from Central and Southeastern Europe who are vulnerable to abuse, exploitation and/or trafficking.

The situational analysis gathered new information in order to complete the two partner’s work by evaluating the national child protection system, and its ability to identify and answer the needs of the children on the move. A special focus was put on the accessibility, inclusivity and pro-active nature of the services provided.

The research respected the principles of active participation from the youth and included recommendations based on their experiences of being on the move and reintegration into the country.
