FEDAIA launches new campaign - La Infancia no pot esperar
Through their new campaign La Infancia no pot esperar FEDAIA – a federation of entitites for children and adolescents and a member of Eurochild - wants to find solutions for the increasing inequality among children in Spain. As poverty among families and children has increased as a result of the economic crisis, early this year FEDAIA carried out several studies with the help of experts to analyze the current situation of children. The outcome of this research resulted in the proposal for economic benefits for parents. In their report ‘“Prestació econòmica universal per a la criança. (PEUC)” (A universal allowance for the youth).
FEDAIA suggests that in order to ensure equal opportunities for children there needs to be a shift in the attention to children; policies have to move towards a more preventative approach instead of only supporting or assisting children once they are already at school. FEDAIA’s aim is to stimulate a debate on this proposal with politicians, civil society and the public.
